So kitten had her back/pelvis/hips/leg surgery yesterday! It took several hours and she was so, so terrified, but I made sure everyone knew she was deaf, so she was pacified with touch (which she LOVES) through the whole ordeal. She's been home since yesterday afternoon and already ambling around the house.

It's important that she start moving ASAP to strengthen her muscles, so I let her and Vivian reunite and they've been playing the world's slowest game of chase since seven this morning.

Vivian thunderthumps her way from one end of the house to the other, kitten follows as best she can. Vivian waits for her, licks her face savagely when she makes it, then runs back across the house. Repeat ad infinitum.

We've only taken a rest for breakfast and a long drink from a filled bucket. Kitten can't quite maneuver the process of leaning down for a drink without knocking bowls over. Filled a bucket, happy cat.

When kitten is ready to come back into bed with me, I make a show of waving my hand so she knows I see her and gently pick her up to come cuddle.

ngl wish I could keep her, lol, but she's gonna be SO LOVED and make someone SO HAPPY. and then I can get more kitties and keep that cycle going.

As you can see, she has her own heated bed at the foot of my bed so she can keep close by. I just brought her some pain meds and wet food. She is perfectly capable of jumping down and finding her own meal, but I thought it might soften the blow of tasting yucky medicine.
