[Real Life][Car Repairs] Whelp. I've been stressing the past few days about my '96 Toyota Avalon.

I never plurked about this so let me start from the beginning.

My car wouldn't start. So I called roadside assistance to come and give it a look. They tried to jump it and instantly my car started acting even stranger and refused to start. He double checked everything and said that perhaps the alternator was bad. Which is an expensive repair.

I get it towed into a shop once I have the time and their diagnosis reveals that a bunch of fuses have been blown. And they can't diagnose any other problems until that's fixed.

its a fairly expensive repair for such an old car since its one of the main fuses too but I have them go ahead and do it. Once they get a good look at it they realize that not only were the fuses blown but the battery was fried. The car had been jumped incorrectly.

And with a fresh battery and replaced fuses it starts up and drives just fine

So now its all fixed up I gotta take this $400 bill to roadside and be like "someone made a mistake. Could you foot this repair bill?" since it wouldn't have been damaged otherwise.

so that's my stress

i am also going through car issues, but that sounds hella stressful. At least i know more or less what mine are

yeah. There is a note on here that there might be other electrical damage that is not showing since it was enough to blow 4 fuses but we don't know

once we get this sorted out I need to take the car into a body shop since the driver side door handle snapped off on the inside at the hinge thereby displacing the entire internal mechanism

it shouldn't be too expensive of a repair but still

especially since I don't care if the replacement part matches or not.
