who knew that keeping stores open, forcing students to show up for in person classes, and hardly ever giving anyone the ability to wfh even in jobs were it would easily be doable, because "it's vitally important to keep the economy going!!" would have deadly consequences
now they're like "uuuuh maybe we could close stores from the 20th onward???" and at least older students will be able to have online classes for the last school week of the year
I'm lucky to be in a situation where I can pre-emptively quarantine but my plan before I found out that I could was to just spend a lot of time videochatting with my mum
I sure as hell am not visiting my father this year because he's already announced his plans to visit his wife's mother and her sister and her sister's husband and her sister's son and her sister's son's girlfriend and her sister's daughter and also his two neighbours and who even knows who else
it's not exactly getting better
my guess is that the store closing measures from earlier this week will help, and then people's holiday visits will make it so much worse -.-
also, somehow, our daily deaths curve is worse
we had them down to single digits for months!
