lucretia wiped everyone's memories basically bc the guilt of watching the relics they'd created destroy the world was killing them. like lup went and got herself killed trying to stop it, taako was depressed, etc. she was sure her plan with the shield would work but equally sure that no one would agree to let her try it. so her thinking was she didn't want
her friends to suffer anymore, so she'd wipe their memories, let them actually live in peace rather than constant guilt, get the artifacts back, create the shield and save everything and everyone
