so, Easy Souls
Quinneapolis
I think step 1 is the simplest, reduce all enemy damage
Quinneapolis
maybe normal enemies by 30%, bosses by 50%
Quinneapolis
possibly see if I can also reduce poise damage pretty dramatically
Quinneapolis
and the other thing I'm thinking of is dramatically reducing enemy stamina
Quinneapolis
increase soul drops, and then just delete a certain amount of enemies
oh i'm scary
I think making certain bosses manageable would be tricky
oh i'm scary
like, half damage Artorias is still Artorias
Quinneapolis
some bosses will definitely be hard
Quinneapolis
that's where I'm pondering things like reducing aggression
Quinneapolis
so they attack less often
Quinneapolis
it's not ultimately going to make the game free
Quinneapolis
just, less stressful
oh i'm scary
say
oh i'm scary
how much harder would it be to make these adjustments customizable
Quinneapolis
vastly
oh i'm scary
like if you want the reduced damage but not the extra souls
Quinneapolis
it would go from me fiddling with a spreadsheet to me writing an entire program with its own UI
Quinneapolis
like multiple orders of magnitude harder
oh i'm scary
right then
thetaClysm
unless the mod is actually multiple smaller mods that can be installed or not?
thetaClysm
maybe?
Quinneapolis
each one would involve edits to the same files
Quinneapolis
so if you installed the More Souls mod, then the Less Damage mod, the latter would overwrite the former
thetaClysm
oh
NekoInc, MSPM
The nice part of all this is it seems like by the time you'd beaten Easy Souls, you'd be closer to ready for doing it modless - that is, by the time you're done, you're Gitin Gud for the main game

exactly
