It made a bunch of people angry ("Ugh, there's no fic of the canon characters! All there is is dumb, childish OC fic no one cares about! ...wait, people DO care? They read and get invested and encourage more OC fic? That's even worse!"), so there's that.

In my old age I've learned not to get bent out of shape over OC fanfics anymore unless they're blatantly ripping off already existing magical girls to the point of being them but in name and then I have a little sigh and a sip of coffee while I page away
