After making my way through a bunch of the Enforcer battles with underlevelled and altogether not that useful party members for bonus dialogue, I eventually went with my endgame party from FC again - Estelle, Joshua, Olivier and Kloe
which was a good decision from a gameplay perspective for my playstyle, and an excellent decision from a dialogue perspective for the scene after the battle against Loweve
It's as wordy as the first game was, so I'm sure you could pick up the gist of it just from the characters talking about things as long as you remember the biggest plot twists (like the cliffhanger...), and more minor npcs often get a "oh, I remember you" vs "wait, who are you again?" dialogue option, but overall I'm glad I replayed FC first. ^^;;
there's one quest in SC where you visit the Erebonian Embassy in Grancel, and Mueller is annoyed with Olivier again for Reasons, and one of the staff you can talk to wonders aloud if they actually broke up this time (don't worry. They would never! )
someone's going to have to explain this chest joke to me one day, because I don't get it. I thought it might be one of the ones where it becomes clear when you say it out loud, but no luck
there are just enough German words in there, and just enough words that look like they should be German words, that I feel like I should be able to figure this out, but nope
and to quote the wiki article, If the German version of the joke is entered into Google Translate, instead of an English translation the program returns “[FATAL ERROR]”
anyway, I'm having a hard tie deciding if I want to take a break (it's not like I haven't taken breaks while playing this game, clearly) or go right for The Third
I know I sent you various things over time, I don't remember if that was one of them. The only one I specifically remember is uhhhhh. Shinsengumi kissing. with Hijikata and demons.
anyway, here's Olivier reacting to the same moment as Estelle and Kloe, because everyone involved in that scene has a thing for Joshua it seems
never got tired of their dynamic

speaking of treasure chest messages, it's hard to pick favourites but I liked this one a lot XD
