Author's characters need to get from point A to point B. Author describes boring car trip. They get in car, drive the car, park the car, get out of car.

Me: Delete the car trip. Just cut to the new location.

Author: But how will people know how they got there?

Me: Trust me, the readers will connect the dots.

Author: I think we need to keep the car trip.

Me: <pulls hair out>

LOL At least describe scenery or a conversation that occurred during the car ride. Gosh.

Yeah, at LEAST have something pivotal happen IN the car, otherwise it's unnecessary.

The main character falls asleep, but the main character is driving! Now that is adventure

All writers (including me) need to remember that whatever doesn't further/enhance the plot, no matter how much you love it, needs to go.
