Yay! I finally got my absentee ballot. I applied for the thing 3-4 weeks ago and it finally arrived. Not messing with the mail and taking it to the truly official drop box at the local clerk's office.

Was going to vote early in person there if it hadn't arrived anyway but I preferred to avoid that if possible.

just got mine on Friday

I early voted at a voting center yesterday. I wanted to see my ballot go in the machine and hear the ding. I'm not entiey sure that means my vote is counted, but I have done what I can. Wensband had an absentee ballot that was accepted there.

: Did you have any significant lines there or was it fairly quick?
Suze
I was sort of brought up a like a dinosaur because my parents always went on election day and I got into that habit. The 2016 election was the first time I voted early/absentee.
Wen
It was fairly quick, even for it being opening day. Most everyone was masked and keeping distance, except some of the poll workers were only wearing plastic face shields and some people's masks were below their nose; these are my pet peeves lately. I was not in there long and they had the doors open.

Good job

: I’m glad you’re not mailing it in. I wouldn’t trust the USPS at the moment.

Daisy Dingle
: Exactly. It's not that I don't trust the USPS in general but Trump's new appointee is doing everything he can to slow it down with his "improvements".
Daisy Dingle
Yes that’s exactly what I meant! 😊

I feel more comfortable with the mail ballots because of WA doing it that way normally, but we also have a robust network of ballot drop boxes too. so I don't have to rely on the gimped Postal Service.

We dropped ours off with legally deputized volunteers at an event in the city parks. The rethugs leading our state legislature tried to get that stopped and questioned its legality. I'm expecting them to take legal action just before the election so thousands of ballots can be questioned too late for a court resolution and counting on election day.
