Lady comes to my desk. "Do you have a pen I can - Oh, are these pens?"

The "flower arrangement"? Yes, they are pens. Pens with fake flowers taped to the tops.

"Yes, ma'am, they sure are!"

"Oh! Well, I don't need the flower, but I guess it comes with it....."

Me:

"The flowers are there to make sure the pens come back to the desk, ma'am. We lose so many pens that way."
"Oh. Oh, so they come back to the desk."

"Yes, ma'am."

Her: /wanders off

Yeeeep. We have the same setup at my job. I've had them take the pen out of my hand because they didn't get it. And I can't say anything.

I think a few of these have disappeared. Not sure, but it does look a little thinner than it used to. I just.......... How.... how do you not get 'here is an annoying thing that keeps people from stealing pens' and instead think "Wow, I'm taking this pen, but I just don't need this glaringly obvious flower..."

And another guest just admitted to accidentally crapping the bed.

Lady tried to say we gave her smoking rooms. None of our rooms are smoking. Lady tried to say she didn't stay the night. We have her checking out at 8 AM. Checkout time is 11. We don't randomly check people out at 8 AM.

So now they have signed registration cards, folios, screenshots of our software showing her checkout time, photos of our no smoking signs, and a letter of explanation.
