During the past two weeks or so, I've been plowing through the Pocket TOS Star Trek novels and it's like. You can really tell that a lot of the authors only considered their books to be canon. That or there was no solidified editorial.

So, like.

The Enterprise Incident has an unnamed Romulan commander who gets seduced by Spock and then gets the Romulan cloaking device stolen.

In the 21 books I've gone through (why have i read so many, half of them aren't even good) there's been three different fates for her and two different names.

One of her has her named Clea, and she gets demoted, then promoted, then killed in a battle.

One of them has her as the daughter of one of the MCs of the book, but she's been stripped of all her names, removed of all honors, and exiled.

And one book has her named Thea and she's the new Praetor of the Romulan Empire because she was the previous Praetor's daughter.

And I'm just kinda chilling here like

"This is why people liked the Star Wars EU better and why it could be considered a more solid canon."

You didn't have Chewie with fifteen different origins.
