Tbh fate is weird about historical accuracy because sometimes you’ll get a legit deep pull where you can tell someone did a ton of research to figure it out. But the character will then get an absurd summer alt where they’re a dolphin trainer or something.

the fic i'm writing is playing around with "okay how would jeanne be different if she was summoned as a saber like her materials said she qualified for instead of a ruler"

honestly the best part about researching historical jeanne is that it turns out she was actually a massively petty and snarky bitch? it was in the name of the lord of course but reading some of the rebuttals she gives to her prosecutors just cracks me up

she fucking tied a letter to an arrow and shot it into the english front lines because they captured her herald for sending so many "leave France now or the wrath of God will be upon you" letters

honestly a really fascinating bit about her is that she carried her banner into battle to stop herself from using her sword to kill people but was absolutely down with threatening death to even her own subordinates if they backed down or committed treason

so like. it can be assumed that if she was disarmed of her banner she would not hesitate to draw her sword to defend herself.

yeah that's pretty in line for fate/ jeanne too, who never considers her hands clean even tho she wielded a banner not a sword, so that's defs applicable to a hypothetical saber jeanne
