I did a PSL once where Gold was basically sleeping on Jefferson's couch after getting booted out of Storybrooke (and Jefferson had already absconded to NYC with his daughter at some convenient point when the town line wasn't being silly)

I can imagine Jefferson taking him apartment hunting and seeing a bunch of these

and Gold is just like "...If it's all the same to you, can I just pay you a thousand dollars and hang myself in your bathroom?"
