Jingle Witch
Movies I want to watch in October. Make Halloween suggestions.
Jingle Witch
So far I want to re-watch: Trick 'r Treat
Jingle Witch
The Love Witch
Jingle Witch
Nightmare Before Christmas
Jingle Witch
Betelgeuse
Jaq
Trick 'r Treat is one I wanna revisit too
Jaq
I'm making a committment to finally sit down and watch the last Halloween movie that came out. If you have not seen the original, I recommend. I saw that for the first time last year.
Jaq
Return to Oz is a Halloween movie and I always recommend. Esp since if you got Didney+ you have access to it.
Jaq
I'm making a plan to sit in the dark, put on my headphones, and binge watch the first season or two of Marble Hornets, because that's the best way to experience it.
hello ^._.^🍓
Trick 'r Treat is ALWASY the top of my Halloween recs
DryadGurrl
Hocus Pocus is my go-to
Jingle Witch
Aw man I JUST found Trick 'r Treat last year and fell in love
Jingle Witch
OOoooooo I LOVE Hocus Pocus
Jingle Witch
Oh man Return to Oz never scared me as a kid. I love it. But I re-watched it this year and was like ".... why wasn't I terrified"
Jaq
I wasn't scared by it so much as mesmerized but then I was a toddler when I watched it.
Jaq
so I was a lot more fascinated by all the hidden faces in inanimate objects and such
Jaq
...tho no. No. The wheelers first appearing always startled me. And Mombi's head waking up and screaming was still terrifying
Jaq
just not scary enough for me to nope out
Jingle Witch
I was like "wait are they really giving dorthy early 20th century electro shock therapy?"
Jaq
some of the best horror I saw in the last year actually feels a little more seasonal and more fitting for earlier in the year than fall, weirdly
Jingle Witch
yeah
Jaq
like Midsommar, I highly recommend? But it feels like it should be watched in the late spring and summer
Jingle Witch
On Mombi's head screaming is terrifying
Jingle Witch
The electro shock thing... as a kid it was just another situation she had to get out of... as an adult understanding what was actually happening it was much creepier
Jaq
yeah as a kid I didn't understand that the noises I was hearing when the power went out were patients they'd tortured then locked in the cellar
Jaq
even though Ozma says that very clearly
Jaq
(because again I first saw this when me and language were not yet on speaking terms)
Jaq
(not fully anyway)
Jaq
It Follows is another one I discovered in the last year or so
Jaq
and it deserves a lot more credit, especially since I feel like the way streaming sites present its premise is misleading
Jingle Witch
I mean, I got that the people screaming in the background were people the doctor had damaged with his machine... I guess I just didn't understand that people had actually DONE that to people for real
Jaq
If you've never seen, put it on. Just go with it. It is, without exaggeration, the only movie I've seen in years that made me legit afraid to go to sleep in my own bed.
Jaq
Grave Encounters is on Tubi, and it's probably one of my fav. found footage horror films. Thinks Ghost Hunters but stuff actually happens
Jaq
It also has the original The Hills Have Eyes if you'd like some vintage horror
Jingle Witch
Ohh all sounds good
Jaq
actually like -- Tubi has a lot. Just browse the horror section on Tubi. They also have a metric ton of MST3K and Rifftrax movies if you'd like something to chuckle at.
Jingle Witch
Speaking of vintage, I always loved The Omen
Jingle Witch
Oh and good old Dark Shadow
Jingle Witch
the original Wicker Man is amazing. (spoiler: The end makes me laugh every single time. I always think "you could have survived AND nailed Britt Eckland. There was literally NOT downside."
HOCKEY SEASON
Ghostbusters!
Jaq
he was getting married after he returned home, which is why he resisted. unfortunately most cuts of the movie don't preserve that
