So, about becoming a Conductor. Note that this is only about becoming a Conductor with Leah's oversight and full approval; absolutely feel free to have an NPC shove you into the Silver or to naturally become the role if it fits if you need to, but mention that plan to me first.
Leah's process for vetting new Conductors is to use Roll Call on potential candidates, then winnowing the people who ping as Conductor by taking them on a hunt and seeing how well they work with a Band.
Under these, assuming all of the other stars align (which they won't), Jules the Darkling would actually ping for Conductor on the grounds that removing his fear might actually be a blessing.
There's "you either aren't stopped by or really don't need fear in your life" and there's "Should be trusted to have their fear removed." These are two different things.
... so except for the willingness thing, Thace probably could ping. (He'd hate it, as much because he'd lose his Bondmates as.... pain and hardship have always been something to push back against and grow from. fear too)
(Note, also, that other Conductors don't have Role Call. That's a Leah thing - or rather, a Roles thing - specifically. No one else has that kind of diagnostic power.)
... way to make Thace want to go Conductor? Have his Bondmate(s) go Conductor. His Bonds have been such a big part of his support for so long that he'll just... want to follow if one goes
Shiro's definitely going to discuss with with his Bondmates - maybe even next mingle in liminal space when they have some downtime. The last thing he wants to do is scare the bejeezus out of them
Yeah. If that's what Shiro really wants, he'll support because he loves Shiro. Losing the Bond will just hurt. He'll endure that hurt for Shiro! But yeah
Shiro's not sure that he wants it - which is part of why he wants to talk about it. It'll be just as much of a surprise to him as anyone else if it does happen.
she doesn't have Leah's powers but she does try to be responsible about the people she recruits. she will tell anyone that the Conductors are good people than anyone should join
