I had a massive brain moment last night all 'I could bring in my OC Azure with a few minor changes to remove her fandom aspects and chuck her into the seekers of the dawn' and now I'm all 'oh my god, depending on what a friend does, I may do that.'
Context: Started out as a canon pokemon character, then got so far from canon thanks to that she basically ended up an OC. Then after ending up through several different multiverses I finally made a version of her that is, officially, an OC. Basically her story is 'gets shoved through slits in the multiverse so many times she just becomes an ubermage'
I wouldn't app her to the game officially because it would take a LOT more brain power than I have to play her long term. But playing a version of her for the event would be doable. Especially a version that is relatively early in her 'learn ALL the magic' goal.
Early enough in the stages that the only time magic she knows is a curse she can only lay on herself (and has done so, because she refuses to grow up for personal reasons) so she's definitely nowhere near uber-mage, but is absolutely going full ham on being a magical researcher.
("Azure. Azure... You've been 13 for like 30 years now. Why?" "If I'm going to be expected to be an adult from the moment I can form coherent sentences there's no point in forcing myself to go through puberty. I'm comfortable like this.")
I probably won't chuck her in unless there's direct interest in her, because she is very much just a character that was made for funsies and to appeal to some of my niche interests ((Turns out there's a chance you'll have a personal grudge against puberty when you're nonbinary...)) but the idea of one of the Seeker's magical researchers being a++
particularly short 'eternal' 13-year-old is really funny to me. Especially considering the fact she is both very competent, and very much possessing the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old.
Unrelated: I Enjoy Ruby. Sometimes she's so single-minded that her 'I should care about this' algorithm takes a back seat, and it's always a pleasure because I don't get to show her pointedly not caring very often.
Ruby: [Actively forces herself to simulate cognitive empathy so that she can reduce harm she would otherwise cause unthinkingly] Also Ruby: [Forgets to simulate that empathy because she wants to get a degree in zoo studies and she has to use homework to prove she understands math because the moment she's doing math in the classroom she panics]
These poor heckers
