[RL] WELP, definitely gonna call my insurance and raise hell sometime this week.
Nox
Two prescriptions now, one of which was a fucking low tier generic, and I saved CONSIDERABLY more money by NOT using insurance
Nox
With insurance, my bill would have been about $113.
Nox
Without, it's $59.
Hyatt
why is medical insurance so broken in this country
Nox
So somebody is going to need to explain to me either
1. What the fuck is going on
or
2. Why the fuck I should even continue paying them
Nox
We are well outside of anything that a damn deductible should be affecting
Nox
a deductible doesn't magically make you pay fucking DOUBLE what you'd pay cash
starfighter
I hate that shit.
Nox
and if I do end up canceling, I'm going to take a flamethrower to that bridge and just straight up file a grievance with HR
Nox
"Hey, you know that insurance you're contracted with that we all have to pay? You know it's functionally worthless, right?"
Hyatt
probably insurance has a specific list of manufacturers they'll cover
Nox
both of these were generic
Nox
at preferred pharmacies
Nox
Oh good, one of the only things they did right was set up an option so you could email them outside their absurdly short business hours for a (prescription) insurance company
Nox
So hey, all goes well, within 24 hours someone will be explaining to me why the fuck I should even bother being insured at all
Nox
In the ultimate dick move, my prescription benefits deductible is tied to my MEDICAL deductible
Nox
Add that to the fact they're clearly not negotiating any kind of preferred rate for drugs, let alone letting the low tier ones be exempt from the deductible, I would honest to god have to be hospitalized after a serious traffic accident for me to meet my fucking deductible in any given year
Nox
If I dumped a massive chunk of my paycheck into buying the best possible plan on offer
Nox
I might reach it by September or October each year.
Nox
But with the jacked up premiums I'd also be paying WAY more each year anyway
StupidSexyV⚠der
i hate that
StupidSexyV⚠der
(and the answer is: they are probably trying to force you to go to their mail order service with 90 day scripts)
Nox
not with C2 controls and a drug that's not offered as part of their mail in service they aren't
StupidSexyV⚠der
ugh
Nox
got a response and yep, fuck this, cancelling my insurance
StupidSexyV⚠der
ugh
Nox
For added irony this is an employer policy from a healthcare company
StupidSexyV⚠der
not shocked
