HELL HOUSE LLC (2015, a friend screened this for me before shudder was available in australia):

found footage with a fun twist! the setup is very cliche and i went in prepared to think it was lame & sucked but BOY DID I GET PROVEN WRONG! i found it delightful & fun to watch, it was awhile ago but i don't remember anything being extra gory or anything but i would take that w/a grain of salt lol

i'm excited to watch the sequels and will UPDATE WITH MY THOUGHTS

HOST (2020)

another found footage with lowfi spooks & scares that i thought were really well done! good story telling and an excellent setup of the lore/rules, and didn't force itself to be longer than necessary.

i was really impressed especially with how natural the conversation patter was & how it made a real effort to display how ppl actually use technology vs how boomers think tech is used lol

CREEPSHOW (SERIES):

terrible. awful. boring & lame & somewhat embarrassing to watch in places. do not watch, they did a bad job.

YUMMY 2019

VERY silly, gory & ridiculous. titties everywhere!!! i really enjoyed it, they fully embraced how goofy their movie was

lots of wild special effects & body horror & even a violent Dick Destruction, rare for a movie with so many Bloody Boobies

i have to (perhaps temporarily) rescind my judgement of hell house llc bcuz.... i thought it was a different movie than what it was ???

HAUNT WAS THE MOVIE I WAS THINKING OF. OKAY. BACK ON TRACK. guess i'm watchin hell house llc 1 lol

ok it's time to watch Hell House LLC (first one, 2015). i'm not wild about the uh 'acting' but we'll see lol

i know its hard both to WRITE conversational dialog that doesn't seem scripted & probably harder to find actors who can do it but god it destroys a majority of 'found footage' movies like... yeah i know its a movie, but you could make some effort to make it seem like its not, which i think is kind of the whole point of being an actor??

HELLHOUSE LLC 2015: EH.

it wasn't the worst found footage but very forgettable. dont put a big nasty clown ghost in your film & then never have him do anything cool, what a waste

that being said, maybe he is utilized more in sequels??? i'll probably find out but onwards to something else in the meantime

THE BEACH HOUSE (2019): EH.

i do like gross infection/infestation stuff and there was even a goofy squishy monster (VERY briefly) but they didn't stick the landing on that & i hate when it seems like they're setting up a shitty boyfriend for commuppance but it turns out i was supposed to care about his relationship w/the girl the whole time lol

HAUNT (2019): it WAS a shudder premiere but idk if its on the platform anymore?? it might be in the us. anyway THIS is a good found footage haunted house movie, i wanna rewatch it at some point. not sure if i'm gonna do another hell house or somethin else 🤔

HELL HOUSE LLC: THE ABADDON HOTEL (2018): oh dear i did not care for this lol

not scary, not interesting, acting was VERY uneven, oof!!

and the 'plot' was uh. there, technically?

i'll still watch three but another time

i think i liked it but its VERY gross, if you get icked out by barfs and poops do NOT watch this you WILL be very upset lmao

if you like tim heidecker, 3D Cool World and David Firth tho u may just kind of enjoy this.

THE FURIES (2019): indie aussie horror film. great concept, execution middling to awful, nonsensical cliffhanger ending. great gore & i was horny for the very big boys in weird masks doing murders but boy oh boy you could tell a dude wrote this. the lady characters have terrible interactions & absurd dialog & characterizations
