Mrs beken's iPhone 5S died while we were on vacation. Seems the phone battery will not charge or even hold a charge anymore. Decision time. Replace phone, or just the battery?

Carriers are offering some good deals on the SE in the US.

Replace the phone. I kept my 5 until it wouldn’t hold a charge, then got the 7 Plus and loved it. Let someone convince me to upgrade to the XS, and while I love a lot about it, the 7 was pretty much perfect.

if the 5s can still get the latest iOS, then it’s worth replacing the battery. Otherwise, I’d suggest an SE.

iOS 12.4.8 is the latest version that the 5s will do.
