oh no an aging potion
Ellis
I don't know if I'll do it this time but man
Ellis
it's kinda canon Julian doesn't age, he's just one day going to end up hideous
Ellis
which means eventually I'm probably gonna do a thing where he ends up the way all his species ends up because I'm mean
Ellis
...I just need to decide what kind of hideous because the other shadow guys are... variable
Ellis
it's probably one of the bigger actual fears he has
Ellis
sadly though I'm not sure this is otherwise a Julian event :-P he's... well, he's not not a fighter, but usually he has the advantage of being intangible if he wants
Ellis
ha, solution
Ellis
in canon he has fenris and jormungandr cough a giant wolf and a giant snake
Ellis
they're actually dead
Ellis
but he can probably bring up something similar for temporary use
Ellis
this is actually an issue because his canon powers are basically As The Plot Demands
Ellis
he's done giant insects? and also weird alien dudes? and also people? but it's also a plot point the snake and wolf are alive and maybe not easily replaceable
Ellis
I think I'm gonna have to limit him to the semblance of life, but nothing entirely autonomous
Ellis
definitely nothing sapient
Ellis
the people were in his pocket space so I can just handwavey justify it with him not being at home right now
Ellis
the problems with playing the bad guy :-P authors rarely bother to tell you how things work or why or what limits there are
Ellis
and I don't particularly want Julian to be his most powerful anyway, because it limits his need to get out there and actually people
Ellis
sorry I do better talking myself through things
Ellis
having to put it into words makes it easier to make a decision, something like that
Ellis
haha, thank you
Ellis
although Fenrir the Lurker looks more like this than a real wolf https://images.plurk.com/2ryElzM1K08SRBuqDDPiCY.png
