Lilith is phenomenal. The show is......irreverent and certainly blasphemous, and convolutes witches with Satan worshippers. I really like it though. It helps to watch with a sense of detachment. For me, anyway.

Yes, that. I find I have to detach to enjoy a lot of things, but especially things that mock or invert Catholicism. At the same time, it's obvious that the showrunners aren't that well versed in Catholic teaching, so...it's not that effectively inverted. So like it's insulting, but it's also kind of low hanging fruit.

And also, the prayer to Lilith that mocks the Hail Mary will always always bother me strictly over how little sense it makes. The supplicants, in recognising her as their new deity, pray a mock Hail Mary to her, right? But the Hail Mary asks for Mary to pray for us. To whom, then, is lilith supposed to be praying for her worshippers?

Hail Lilith, pray for us sinners? Pray to whom? It would have made much more sense when she was still number 2.
