yeah... parallel timelines but that Raha is from a future you prevented. Raha still in the tower won't have any idea what's happened unless our Raha and bad end Raha merge.
incidental admission: from the mysterious outfit and staff and dramatic name, I expected the Exarch to be all solemn and noble and cold, and then it turns out he's this sweetheart who makes you dinner and who nobody in the Crystarium has pressed on his past because look he's a nice guy and that would be rude
I don't know the fandom at all, really. Are people mad at him for being secretive? I know people are mad at Urianger. Which is weird to me, since the whole theme of ShB is about how even the good guys have to keep secrets. It ends with the WoL going shhh, even!
yup! woke up in the bad future, then went 100 years into the past of the first. and yeeeeah people want him to die and idek why. i think it's like 'he'll send y'all home asap and DEATH FLAAAAGS'
tho some people i swear its like 'emet died' (which i think was the best conclusion for his arc, freeing him from his burden finally) 'so kill the catte'
The writer seems to be very into that theme - didn't she also do the Bahamut raids where Louisoix has to keep becoming Phoenix secret so people don't worship him and summon him as a primal?
but yes, wrote the coils and also wrote original CT. and, like... wasn't it part of CT that it was better to keep the tech sealed and secret until a time the world was worthy?
Yeah, much as I love Emet, he needed to go, not just because of being the expansion boss, but because having to let go and entrust the future and the memory of his people to these "lesser" people is a very good bittersweet end
huh, interesting how attached people get to making a personality for their WoL. especially because this isn't a game where you get a whole lot of choice about what you do
but i am just TIRED of people acting like square could add all these choices without hella long patch cycles. i love how they've added more choices recently.
(but yeah. bolormaa barely follows the storyline, but its not like im saying the devs are bad for how they're writing. most of the time. fuckin... i miss papalymo.)
I like Exarch and G'raha one and the same (Though I think Exarch has an unfair advantage of having more screentime/development), but I am also fine with Exarch pulling off the big sacrifice or whatever because that is what he was going and wanted to do in the first place
ah! well! its not shown, BUT in character data stored, theres copies of the heavens ward, and the ascian duo, which is never called and in places with dialogue dummied out.
All I know about the time travel thing is the short story says Cid and Nero worked together to make it and drank a toast when they did, and I love that so much
that said, yeah, I think the writers have kind of put themselves in this funny corner where they've put sufficient effort into making the WoL feel 'yours', that the moment they stumble and don't give exactly the option that one might personally want to give in a dialogue prompt, we're all ?!?!?!?
(when I realized this, it impacted how I played/saw my own WoL, in that yeah I get a lot of say-so in who they are, but there's a base foundation there. Which has made it more interesting to me in a way?)
at any rate, I'm now at the meta level of being concerned for the crystal cat. Are they gonna follow through on their theme of "don't fucking hurry to sacrifice yourself" or are they going to tie up the loose ends in the name of emotional impact?
I… from a practical viewpoint, can you put all that in there. which is a weird tension from how I think… some of the original messaging was meant to be but
the big sacrifice
or whatever because that is what he was going and wanted to do in the first place
