Hey plurkies. Is there a pose correction HUD that has smaller increments than Animare? I just need to move my hand a little bit, not send it into next fortnight!

As useful as it is, I don't get why animare has some increments at 8 and some at 72. Who needs to move their leg by 72? Maybe 5!

I am usually lucky that my hands are stuck way in, so Animare works ;P

fate pose does pretty good for fine adjustments

I admit, I haven't used that as much for hands. I usually get lazy and use animare unless I need finger adjustments.

Siddean : black dragon can do fine tuning on existing poses- it's the reason i've been trying to sort out how to use it

black dragon does the best fine tuning of everything but if i recall siddean doesn't do 3rd party viewers

I don't tend to use 3rd party viewers but I might have to make an exception for vendor pics. It's that, or make my own poses, or go back to the default SL shape settings since I think that maybe what most poses are made with :/

Yes, it has various extra tools and tweaks for photos. I have not been able to get used to the interface, so used to Firestorm, but it does have some cool features.

it has very detailled settings for photography stuff, for instance you can fine-tune the DOF like you would with a real-world camera

^that sounds useful. I can't seem to work that out in the SL viewer

i find the interface too weird, so i set up the photo in the regular viewer and change to BD just to take the picture

Siddean : black dragon does things differently, in some cases VERY differently. sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's....not what you expect in sometimes a not-good way (the default glow settings are VERY different to bring up a little ambient glow from lighting but in return dumps expected glow, the tone mapping limits what you can do with its

correction, etc). most of it can be set back to the way SL does it but it does take some figuring out. and often, not setting it back to SL settings _is_ better, but sometimes it can be an issue.

I use AnyPose, but it has the same issues. I was just saying the other day that I wanted to look for something new. I think I'll have to give Black Dragon another look.

I would love to have better control in poses too. Like having levels. Fast level (larger moves), medium level, and fine tune

And also... create poses and animations in SL that can used in SL....

the problem with any of the server side solutions like anypose/animare is that the creator needs to upload every single option for each joint, individually. it's a LOT of files to juggle, even just doing fairly large movements. BD has the advantage of taking it viewer side so the actual animations per joint don't have to exist- which means basically

anything can be done, it also freezes your current pose (every joint, that includes eyes/face bones/hands/etc) and allows you to fine tune each joint _from that pose_ (with a 3 orientation slider of small increments) instead of having to start over like the HUDs that can only override existing and can't know what they are set to to start with.

I tried Black Dragon and got stuck in a "repair MS C++/reboot" loop so I noped out of that one. Maybe one day when I have more time I'll give it another try.

I use a combination of Anypose and FATE hand poser for that kind of errors and it is quick and works just fine for photos and vendors for me

ack I wonder what that's all about... mine has never done that before

it may be that you do need to replace your c++ distributable, they do sometimes go bad. and most things don't really use it. but that does require taking the time to download a new version, uninstall, reinstall and all that. and then hope that IS the actual point of failure, since....well. it might be something else random, error messages can be wrong.
