Dad was just getting angry because he reads a lot of listicles and wonders why you can't just click a page and see the entire list

It was that "... oh" moment when I told him it's because they cram ads on every single page so spreading it out over 10 individual pages = more ad revenue

("why are there so many fuckin' ads?!" because you got on a kick where you were convinced that uBlock was screwing your computer up, so I disabled it, bad ad practices exist because of people like you, Dad)

I love my dad but it greatly frustrates me when he relies on me to set things up for him then disregards my advice after saying I "know what I'm talking about" so I've learned to just do what he wants without complaint

It took me literal years to convince him to stop using AOL (he'd make me download the desktop client for him because he liked the homepage thing having all the news in one place)

The desktop client has not been updated or modernized in any significant way since the early 00's, it sucked balls for doing even basic browsing, but it was what he was used to so he'd keep using it then get frustrated when it didn't work

It was a very happy day when he finally let me install Chrome and make the AOL homepage his homepage so he can still access his email and have the news page he likes
