so, last night. my grandmother went to use her computer as i was locking up for the night. and i was like... yeah she'll make sure taxi is in his room when she goes to bed, right??
Thought 1: oh god taxi's door is open has he come back is he still outside oh goddammit Thought 2: ...oh! he's just sitting in my tub. that's a relief. Thought 3: ....he only goes into my tub when he's caught something.there better not be gore and shit for me to clean up at 4 in the morning
the rabbit... seems fine. definitely alive, breathing and blinking and scratching at my bathtub when i poked it about to see if there were any injuries. none that i could see or feel at any rate....
i think it's definitely a... juvenile? is that the right word? i would not call it a baby, but it's definitely not the size of an adult. i have seen the cottontails around here. they're Fat.
anyway i'm keeping it in my tub until it's a little brighter. we have snakes and owls and shit. circle and life and all that, but, like.... listen i want to give this rabbit a fair chance.

In my experience, juvenile wild bunnies can get caught in the WEIRDEST places. I remember when the deck was being torn up, the construction guys came to me and were like "there's this rabbit in the middle of everything and he won't leave". I went out and scooped him up. Silly thing.
hours later and i still can't believe that not only did taxi catch a rabbit, but he apparently carried it by the scruff of the neck into my bathtub, considering the unharmed state of it
yeah, he definitely would go super still when i checked on him (save for the time he jumped over my bathtub and raced behind the shower curtain when i opened the door)
