Diego the 100-year-old tortoise whose astonishing sex drive saw him save his species by fathering 800 babies has retired in his native Galapagos island.
and he's been at it since 1977, when he was found in the San Diego Zoo, presumably without any other members of his species since he had been collected in the 1930s
