In the middle of Day 5. I haven't had any permadeaths thus far, so I must be doing something right.
I also managed to run into another bonus fight, and man, this thing is nasty. He can hit from several squares away, has mobs right next to him that can do the same, and has adjacent mobs that can heal him.
I'm certain that I can take him down, but not without a casualty or two, and I really want that achievement for having not lost a team captain. I started grinding for a bit to solidify my victory, but I wasn't quite in the mood for, so I put the game down and focused my attention elsewhere.
Soon enough, my new SD card came in, and I started the process of transferring files over to it, bit by bit. (I'd normally just do it en masse, but I am extremely tight on available storage space.). It didn't make much else to continue playing OCR on my old SD card, because I wouldn't keep the progress I'd made.
It hasn't been all that long since I played the original game on my Switch, through the online service… but it has been a while since I touched the DS remake. Even though I grew up with the former, I prefer the latter.
The music isn't quite as good due to DS instrumentation, but the massively updated graphics, and extra sub-games are all on point. Also, thanks to that grip that I bought for my system, it feels loads better to play than it did before.
I played all the way to "Revenge of Meta Knight"… and man, that final chase sequence, and closing credits are still some of my favourite moments in gaming history. Everything about it is just… perfect.
Now that I've gotten this far, I may as well finish the rest of it. Dunno if it'll be before or after my second playthrough of OCR, but I'm definitely not leaving it until I get 100% — minus "Helper to Hero", at least.
(In case you're wondering, I consider 100% for that clearing the game with every Helper. Yeah, not going that far. )
