Here's actually a neat little DDLC tidbit

during the Just Monika section

one of the things Monika will talk about is calling out the vagueness of the game's setting

as like, probably Japan, but not quite and never explicitly stated

and i actually once watched a playthrough of it over on NND from a Japanese player

and during the playthrough he actually picked up on a few things like "wait, is that a thing in Japanese schools? I don't remember that from when I was in high school'

so when he got to that part

Monika is like 'so, this game takes place in Japan, right...?'

he was like 'kind of...? but it also seems to kind of not...?'

and I thought it was neat that he ended up in the exact same headspace as Monika about it because of the creator's imperfect knowledge of Japan
