(the church is in Regensburg, Germany, and the whole building is incredible, it's gorgeous, but there are a few really funny things)

I think the object in his hand is an hourglass, something about the inevitable march of time/death, but I sort of appreciate that it just looks at first glance like he's holding a cup or can. this skeleton is hitting on you while drinking a beer.
