i was curious (and i'm horrible when i'm curious), so i typed in those gyazo links. and step one, stop viewing SL at the absolute lowest settings. i think basic shaders might even be off. everything looks like crap with basic shaders off, it's not even pre windlight, it's worse than pre windlight.
