i know i've said before that i compulsively classify all my characters as either wardens or inmates regardless of whether i've played them in TLV or not, but now it's time for me to admit that if i've had CR with you in another game, i've probably mentally classified your characters too

wardens are """'good guys""" and inmates are """"bad guys"""", but in play it's really more complicated than that; inmates have stricter criteria in that even though they don't have to be evil, they need to sort of be in the process of making serious mistakes or doing things that hurt other people

on the flip side wardens don't have to be perfect paragons of morality or have their shit together, but they need to have something to bring to the table in terms of helping another person get their shit together

Jon Sims could feasibly be an inmate depending on the canon pull point. In S4 when he's munching on civilian brains and doesn't quite want to stop because it feels really good. But he'd probably graduate to warden when he got his nose smacked and was told to stop being a monster man.
