I also adore the way he sort of... adopts Philip? Who has spent his entire life never making a single decision because the Director made them all for the historians. So he does things like brings him new food to try because it doesn't occur to Philip that he can do this thing.

They have a really sweet relationship, and Philip is just a mess, like from one drug to the next and this sort of resignation to it despite all the weight that gets dumped on him as a historian and how he's meant to just deal and carry on
