I so freaking wish I could take over being Hailey's 'nurse' during the weekdays, and I could literally write an essay filled with reasons why, but the Cliffnotes version is:

her Monday-Thursday nurse has shown signs of being incompetent and not taking care of Hailey like she should be taken care of, and I COULD DO SO MUCH BETTER. hell, I am doing better!! Jenny literally told me that!

as far as I know, the only things the nurses do that I don't do when I'm working my respite care hours, are bathing Hailey (except. the. Mon-Thurs nurse doesn't actually give her baths ) and overseeing her therapies. and since Hailey is legally Jenny's daughter, Jenny doesn't need an RN to take care of Hailey

even our CDC case worker said she trusts me to take good care of Hailey, and we've only met twice!

I also had to call in one of Hailey's refills this morning, which I don't mind doing, I've called in countless refills for myself and other people over the years, but it's the nurse's job to do that, not mine

there are so many little things that the nurse does that show her incompetence, which is bullshit since she had a patient for about 7 years before coming to work with Hailey, and I see all of it because I live here and I'm home all day every day. so I'm pretty much at the point where I'm like, please just let me be Hailey's caretaker

literally every person we know, knows that I can do it

the only thing is I can't lift her in and out of the tub to bathe her (she is HEAVY and even carrying her between her bed and her tomato chair on the couch is hard) but we're working on getting a bath chair, so that might not be an issue for much longer. and I would not mind having to wake up when Jenny and her other two kids leave in the mornings.

sorry for the rant I'm just! very frustrated!

and stressing because Hailey is having major hip reconstruction surgery next week

with being new to your tl, I don't know the background, but this sounds so frustrating , I'm so sorry you are having to deal with it. Is Hailey your niece, or your grand daughter?

Carolyn 🐱📚 : Hailey is my special needs niece who was shaken by her birthmom as an infant, and has all kinds of health issues because of it

so she has her meals and medications through a tube in her stomach, she's 5 but has the mental development of a 3 month old, she can't sit up by herself, she has cerebral palsy, issues with seizures.. there's a whole list
