also speaking of manga v LN Akira is way less of an ass in the manga cuz he actually has to speak dialogue rather then just internal monologues. Also since we don't see all his thoughts he just reads as less of a antisocial butthead
i saw a video once that basically said the switch from written to visual was the same reason the 50 shades movie is more tolerable then the book cuz you cut all the stupid thoughts
