I try not to wish bad things on others, but I know that if something bad happened to certain people, I wouldn't be unhappy.

Wishing doesn't really work, so if it helps you feel better I say wish away.

Obsolete : I disagree with this. Wishing changes your state of mind and the only way for things to get better is for people who oppose one another to (very, very slowly) come to respect and understand one another. Wishing harm on those you oppose works against that.

This is specifically what I was talking about - I've seen many people wish harm on the President and those around him. You are no better than he if you do that. Be better! It's what our side is supposed to be.

It's just a fleeting thought that crosses my mind when he's being particularly disagreeable.

I don't wish ill health or death on anyone but maybe Clarence Darrow had it right when he said something like he never wished anyone dead but read some obituaries with great pleasure. Bette Davis also reportedly said "I was told only to speak good of the dead, Joan Crawford is dead....good!"
