[Birds of Prey] a. best choice of movie after today; b. it's a toss up for which girl is mine here [spoilers within]

Huntress is badass and I get the Laura vibes from her or at least that Type. Canary has the whole "yeah you dont own me motherfucker" thing. Montoya has NOTHING TO PROVE to you losers and she's the capable lady who is quitting your shitshow leaving you in the lurch.

and then Harley. oh Harley.

I never really like. she wasn't my gal, you know? but I am feeling her ENTIRE VIBE here

maybe it's the Frostlike fuck you I do what I want about it

but shit, man. I cried because it was not just ONE badass lady kicking ass

it was all of them

and while they were definitely giving a big ol' fuck you to The Man, it didn't feel like ... idk. what the haters might call "forced"

I needed this movie today

and Ewan's character was such a slimeball I was kind of like OBI WAN NO

but like!! they did their ass kicking in different ways! for different reasons. all of them had been kinda screwed over and while it WAS systemic injustices against women that put them in those positions, it wasn't, like. spelled out and written on the mallet

dear DC, clearly the answer is just to let your movies be fun, and let your ladies run the show

kasterborous: was definitely different from, like. it wasn't Arrowverse Laurel or anything

but that's how DC adaptations go. they're all so different from each other, all different takes on the same essential characters.

it'll be real interesting to see what they do with Killer Frost in Suicide Squad 2 (rumor has it she'll be in it, anyway, and no I dont expect her to be like the CW one) (in fact I sort of hope they use an earlier version?)
