Last night, in an attempt to keep the child safe, I emergency sat down my tablet. Figured it was safe, but didn't hve time to fuss.

Child is fine.

Tablet fell. Tablet broke.

My tablet is how I wrote most of the time, and now I can't. I can maybe get it fixed, but I have no idea how much that will be.

Cosmetically, the tablet is fine. The screen is not broken, but it's not connected. I have no idea how to work on this, it's way the hell out of my wheelhouse. It could be a connector popped loose, it could be something needing a soldering iron, which we don't have.

I can get a battery for my LG V20 for $48, shipped from LG.

I'm so fucking pissed off at myself. Because that happened, then, just a bit ago, I'm getting the Aldi bag with the bread in it off the roof of my car, tapped my full soda from Wendy's (hadn't even had a fucking sip of it) and it just... fell over and completely spilled on the road.

most likely the connector port broke. they are notoriously not soldered on very well on many different tablets...

I've dropped the tablet before. Because clumsy. Guess this was just a bit too much.

No shipping on the NewEgg, possibly sketch battery. So it's $12.

Literally 1/4 the cost of direct from LG.

Taking the chance on the possibly not actual LG battery for $12.

If I'm gonna get a new tablet, it'll be a iPad Pro, for some art. I'm not doing the little half steps anymore. This is mostly to give me something mobile to work on writing with. And I might transfer my phone service over to it. I'll see when I see how the battery does.
