There is a mouse in the apartment and this is entirely sigh inducing.
July, July
I know it is very cold outside because the temperature dropped below freezing the other night and their doing renovations in one of the other apartments probably let him in.
July, July
but also.
July, July
I have no tolerance for your disease spreading little butt, cute as it may be considered in a pet situation.
July, July
So death it is when we get glue boards.

July, July
I feel sorry for the little guy but this isn't that sort of establishment.
sAlty
oh but the glue ones are so cruel :< maybe some other kind of trap? I'm all for trapping them, they do carry diseases but the glue ones have always seemed horror inducing to me
July, July
Yeah, it is... really unfortunate in that sense but of indoor trap options they're the safest effective ones to use.
July, July
I realize that can sound very insensitive but we are in a high density environment (apartments) with gap openings beyond our control (which we can't gain access to or find easily because again, apartment)
July, July
And while we already have the 'duh' option of 'limit things to attract rodents and insects' under control... we can't do anything about neighbors.
sAlty
no yeah I understand needing to deal with the problem and tbf I've never had rodents myself so I don't know much about the options

Poison is actually an awful pest control vector with larger critters like mice especially in an area like this where it isn't unusual for coyotes and mountain lions to come from the mountain.
July, July
Or where kids can come in contact with poisoned mice.
July, July
Like
July, July
While it's awful on an individual scale to the mouse or rat caught on the glue board
July, July
It's a lot safer than the amount of poison you'd have to use to kill even a tiny mammal or the instant kill traps.
July, July
That said glue boards should never be used in outside areas where they can catch birds without being in trap containers that actually limit access to rodents.
