[Frozen 2 spoilers]

So basically, the plot of Frozen 2 is: Elsa searches for her soulmate, discovers she's the Avatar

and I can't help but blend her quest with that Simpsons episode where Homer goes on a spirit quest to find his soulmate

"Oh, that raging fire spirit was just an adorable lizard! And the mysterious Sami woman who rescued my dad was my mom! And that talking reindeer was just a regular reindeer!"

Sven: Find your soulmate, Elsa!
Elsa: ...what?
Sven: mrrrouuuu
Elsa: Damn straight.

Was it me or was it darker than most Disney movies/it’s predecessor?

yeah, it went pretty heavy on the themes of maturity and death

and definitely felt darker than the first movie

thematically and visually

In fact, I really loved their progression of clothing, especially for Anna. Originally wearing very light linen for the harvest festival. Then she's wearing rich autumnal jewel tones of emerald & plum, which she loses after being separated from Elsa, so when Elsa and Olaf "die" she's wearing all black with just some gold accents

Plus she's stuck in a literal cave

yeah once they showed the pillars I'm thinking "Frozen the last Frostbender"

It was funny watching anna dance around telling olaf people die in the beginning

Yeah, I kept thinking, wow, Olaf is growing up and learning about how decay, entropy & death are inevitable, wheeeeeee!

To be fair, he is the child stand-in character
