[cats] Lucy is so growly and I feel so bad
I'm thinking she's hurting a bit but we don't know how much of the 8pm pain medicine she got and how much got on her face
I at least know she's not pissed at me
she was growling and then grooming my face and growling again
StupidSexyVโ der
she'll be ok
she might also be pissy that she can't properly groom herself
so I'm giving her a bit of cone-free time
Un(t)sundered
yeah, that sounds like uncomfy or upset, yeah
I feel so bad that we probably fucked up her pain meds >.<
Un(t)sundered
don't be. it can be hard to medicate cats
And her appetite is blah. She does eat though and I had to bring her water dish into the bedroom and coax her to it
I'll handfeed her some turkey and treats if needed, so long as there's food in her belly
my dumbass is gonna resort my sleep schedule to make this easier on her
Ix handled it all super well (besides pulling out four stitches, almost choking on her collar/cone) but Lucy seems to be just... generally more miserable but better about the cone
XD SHE'S SO GRUMPY
StupidSexyVโ der
she's also older
that too
she's having so much trouble getting comfy, I'm gonna let her sleep without the cone for a bit
Maraich
It'll all be over before you know it and a long distant memory for her
Maraich
So long as you just keep her comfy and all she'll be ok
Maraich
Cats can be pretty bad at taking meds sometimes
StupidSexyVโ der
they really are
Maraich
We had one that we were supposed to squeeze a drop on both eyes AND his nose once. Boy, was that never going to happen...
Siv
Cats are notorious medication-spitters in my experience
ohhhh boy that sounds awful
StupidSexyVโ der
but she'll be fine in a few days
Maraich
Yeah, when the vet gives you something like that it's like, "Are you serious?" lol
Luckily they gave us liquid that we just shoot between her cheek and gums but she refused to come out of her crate so we were clumsy about it
I imagine she was nice and warm in there, they shaved almost all her belly lol and I had it covered with one of my blankets for the scent
StupidSexyVโ der
you might have to not give her the option
Maraich
Yeah, probably gets a bit itchy when fur grows back too
Maraich
But given enough time it'll be fine, so long as she doesn't tear anything
StupidSexyVโ der
take her out, wrap her up in a towel, medicate, put back
Yeah no, we'll just take the crate apart next time
she's nibbled at them a bit but Ix had at least one stitch out by now and Lucy still has all of hers. I'm calling this a win so far
Maraich
Also, besides any meds that the vet might have given them, our mama cat here didn't get any, and the two girls we had before I think just got one pill or something after... A lot of times they don't really get much
Maraich
So your girl isn't too bad off in comparison
The folks at Brownstown are so nice
They even said they'd call, I think, on Saturday- sometime this weekend anyway- to see how she's doing
they keeps very involved and it's nice
Maraich
That's good
aw, she left and curled up in the crate but if that's comfy for her that's good
debating if I should cover it again?
Maraich
Is it light out or something?
Light in this room, the living room is dark since bf is sleeping
Maraich
Or just keeping in the heat?
Maraich
Yeah, probably just cover it, though I'm not sure if the light bothers them like it does us when sleeping
she also has a plush new bed in her crate that we got so she'd be comfy
