( UPDATE + NEW CAT ) after another stint of being ill, i've finally bounced back and i now have a cat. pics inside

this is sundance! sunny for short. 4 months old and an affectionate boy when he isn't stressed out by the massive move from the shelter to a house with three people in it

we all wanted a cat, but i haven't been doing super good, especially on the mental health side of things, so we finally broke down and got him half as an emotional support cat for me
ʙʏ ᴊᴏᴠᴇ!
just got him earlier today, actually! he was quiet the whole care trip and only hissed a little when i accidentally startled him when i checked on him a few hours ago

settling in real nicely. he immediately goes for the toys, and he'll peak out for reassurance instead of just hiding the whole time

so yeah. i'm doing better now and i think with sunny, i finally won't keep having sharp dips in my health right when i spring back

so sundance is settling in super good. the shelter did try to socialize him with other kittens and he did pretty good with that, and the second cat is a couple of months old that absolutely loves other cats

this is marinara! she's currently sick so we couldn't handle her and we had a hold on her before we took sundance home-- she used to be part of a really big litter for a first time mama cat (pepperoni, mushroom, etc were their names), but they all got adopted before her (because she's a runt which is a shame)

she kept trying to play with everyone who walked by, even quite gently for a 2 month old grabbing at my fingers without claws

she also kept trying to play with other kitties

the main reason behind getting another cat is that in all of our experience, a two cat house is preferable, because they'll entertain each other, especially when we can't

we're all leaning on yes, for now, but we're going to make a more solid decision tomorrow
