[sherlock holmes] Day one of the Left Coast Sherlockian Symposium. I'll park my observations here, as I have them, in case anyone is interested.

I need to get dressed, but I am fretting over pasting a mustache to my face and then eating. How does one navigate these things?

So far travel with Jen is easy--we neither of us sleeps in naturally, so that's all fine. We listened to a podcast about the moon landing all the way down, which was also fun. We also went to a local skating rink last night which was too busy but oh my god the floor was amazing. Sadly, the wurlitzer organ is used on Thursday nights, so I did not get

to experience the glory of old-timey rollerskating /sob

Really appreciate the breadth of topics here. Going from BSI canonical "scholarship" to gender issues to minute recreation of canon to fanworks and transformative fan culture in such an established fandom feels really positive. It's all good.
