i normally try to not complain about stuff, but i really wish event owners didn't go so crazy with decorations and landscaping. it's a beautiful sim, but i have crashed several times now trying to get the ama collar at tdsf

Nimil
sometimes i just start derendering everything unneeded because my internet can't handle loading it all

Nimil
its not likely that i'll take pretty pictures in an area with vendors so it doesn't need to look pretty for me to shop. i nuke all trees and grass and other things like that so i have less to load

Cass
i ended up doing an area search immediately, and then when i event went to cam it, im still waiting for the textures to load, because the texture lag is so horrendous

Nimil
oh gosh yes that event was murder on me the other night.. i had to derender most of the build to get vendors to load

Cass
its why i love events like fameshed, c88, froufrou etc. because they don't go crazy with their decor, or keep it repetitive to lower vram. im sure they remove scripts too

Cass
they finally loaded so i ran out as fast as i could after grabbing them

Jaxon
I'd be perfectly fine with an empty sim and just vendor's booths on it. No landscape or anything to glam it up

Nimil
i was at an event much like that recently and it was kinda refreshing... nothing to distract from doing what you come to an event to do... buy shit and leave.

Nimil
there was just stalls with vendors lined up in a row in an empty sim that was still pretty even though simple, they made the ground water, added a few simple lighting effects

Cass
it's a good event. there's lots of great stores. but i couldn't shop because i kept crashing. so i grabbed what i knew i'd wanted when tping in and left

I wish they would just do un-heavily decorated, circlular/square easy to navigate one story builds. It would make everything so much easier for everyone. I was just discussing this with someone, some of the builds now a days make my heart so sad.

Nimil
the point of those events is to shop, i don't know why they dress them up so heavily. if it had some other component to it like say.. the shopping area in the japanese horror game that used to come to sl every year, i could get that being decorated and themed but if thre's nothing else but shopping why decorate so heavily? make the vendors the focus

Mad Madam Min
I love the decorations, I and I love they want to put effort in, but maybe pull the scripts out of the decorations? We did that for TCH all the glitter stars we pulled every single script out so that we could help with lag

Celi
They are doing a hunt too, so its probually to hide stuff in, but I agree I have seen some event builds that can be a bit much somtimes. I think I get the most frustrated tho when the layout is confusing. I deal with lag but if I actually get lost in the event ( has happened) I get frustrated.

Cass
I think I met you when i got lost at a fair lool

Celi
Cass
: Yes I think it was the black fair or somthing like that, I was lost too lol.

Cass
xD lool

I remember years ago there was an event that was 1 room, all the vendors had a "box" to set up in, and the event was specifically for cam shopping. No decorations, nothing. It was the easiest, most lag free event ever. I loved it.

^^Good lord, that sounds amazing. Can we have that back?
