is when they go to the lab of the late science genius Dr. Deus

and his AI brain backup reveals the backstory to them

and when all hope is lost, goes "fortunately I have a giant robot that was never mentioned up until this moment, a machine that will save you in your darkest hour"

"ITS NAME"

"DEUS X MACHINA"

holy SHIT

That was gold, but personally, I preferred the exchange slightly later.

the one where Galo can't get motivated because their mecha looks bad?

"I spent years studying the city and its inhabitants to prepare for this eventuality!"
"What would you have done if we hadn't shown up?"

in terms of being unbelievably awesome and also completely stupid

Galo just wishes everyone else would respect scene tone
