my guess is someone rented it then put it on their hood or trunk and forgot about it because you'd have had to straight up yeet it for it to land anywhere near where I found it

so I jumped out of my car and collected it, then went home and called them then waited on hold for 20+ minutes

attempted multiple times to explain just how destroyed the case was, though the disk still looks playable

the girl answering just told me to return it, to go find a redbox and call back to do a manual return
