That'd be awesome but parents here would probably be arrested for that nowadays. People even call the cops if little kids walk to school. I did it all the time but times have changed.

There's actually some truth in the activity, but bear in mind our woods are so fragmented that you hit a road or house by walking 10 minutes in any direction. I don't know how common it is these days but I did the dropping in the woods things once or twice in my youth.
