yes hello tonight I purchased a hot curl iron thing for my hair, how use? thank.

I know how to burn myself with one, but that's the limit of my knowledge

have dry hair before using it, get a spray or whatever that will protect hair from the heat of the curling iron, I would suggest wearing like a cotton glove or something on the hand you're planning on holding the iron with because I can attest to the fact that accidentally holding it on the wrong end for any amount of time hurts like the Dickens,

if you got the clamping kind of iron then work from the end of your hair up by clamping a section and rolling up (not too tight or you'll not be able to unclamp and let go of the hair) and using the fingers of your other hand to feel the roll of hair to check that it gets warm before you let go (I'd suggest trying this out on a wig that can be curled first)

I use bobby pins clip up the rolled sections cuz my hair can't hold a curl long term without copious amounts of hairspray, but maybe you'll be fine? but if you separate out your hair in sections, starting from the bottom quarter of your hair and clipping up the top parts and letting down hair as needed, it makes it easier to handle

take into account that I'm not a professional and just telling you what works for me, especially the glove part cuz hahah burning my hand an hour before a wedding was not my definition of fun. obviously the longer you leave your hair in the iron, the more Shirley Temple your rolls will get, so also take that into account
