when ed is facing "god" he tells him that what ed is seeing is all he's able to see right now for the toll he's paid. BUT then god's leg starts to materialize bc ed paid that as a toll. erego god has his leg now
also one thing i really dislike abt bh is that the transmutation was there and gone. like...their resurrected mother was just...there, but nothing ever came of her. once the boys are done doing this transmutation there's nothing more to it
in 03 though she plays much much of a role, and the anime explains wtf the thing that they wound up transmutating was. in trish's case she became sloth
but like in bh. the failed transmutation, even though there was a THING there it just doesn't matter. the thing itself i mean. i hate that. it got buried and then...nothing? that felt like a huge let down the first i watched bh
also ok. here's a plot hole. alchemy takes equivalent exchange, right? well, before ed begged for al's soul back it had been sacrificed. wtf would have been needed to bring their mom back to life? BOTH their lives? that'd be unbalanced. two lives for one? equivalent exchange would be one life for another
there was more about the human transmutation that ties into the zombies later but it seems really underdeveloped so either I don't Get It or she never fully explained/explored that shit
you know. roy is asking ed if he wants to be part of the military and ed is maybe what 6 years old here? isn't that just a little young to be asking someone that. and esp quite young for him to be able to do the whole consent thing. i know japan has different age restrictions but sheesh
gaaaaah "those were eyes that had flame in them" roy talking abt ed's eyes. look i know roy/ed is a controversial ship, but hot damn. fast forward ten years AFTER CANON and have roy say that line
rose: cornello promised to bring my bf back to life so i follow and trust him cornello: bringing someone back is the greatest taboo. had you fooled the whole time
it's funny because in the manga they only went thinking they were adults. but let Ed in without question. in 03, he knew they were kids from the start and was like lol they'd never let a kid join
i might be dark and fucked up okroy: they've literally already experienced it. nothing the military shows them will phase them
ed:
me: that's my reaction to trump
cornello: bringing someone back is the greatest taboo. had you fooled the whole time
well at least if they were older than roy roy/ed wouldn't be such a controversial ship
