actually, the weirdest thing is that they removed everything about rikka's crush on mana but kept regina's, then removed regina's too in the second half despite the cuts there making the plot stop making sense
(the second half of glitter force doki doki is hot garbage, whereas the first half actually improved on the original with pacing and characterization in some respects except for shafting rikka)

My theory was that the removal of Rikka dancing (popular meme) and renaming Alice (whose name was already in English) was to keep kids from stumbling on the original and its fanbase. Whether that's to keep them from spoilers, from knowing that Mana was a yuri harem lead, or from inappropriate fanworks, I'm not sure.
i think they took out rikka dancing bc im almost positive there’s a giant PRECURE logo behind her and they’re super desperate to avoid any mention of it being called precure lol
