The Toronto school board recently released a new dress code and oh BOY is the CBC comment section mad. This leads me to the conclusion the school board is doing something right.

New dress code is basically "Groin, buttocks and nipples must be covered by opaque fabric. Undergarments cannot be worn as the sole layer but it's fine if straps or waistbands show. No porn or hate speech. No rules that target a particular gender."

sounds like a sensible rule

Seriously. Sounds fine by me.

The comments section is appalled that they are not sufficiently policing the bodies of young girls

And that teenagers will be permitted to dress like teenagers instead of office workers

Look, if you eant your kid wearing a uniform, there are private schools. If you don't have a kid, this really isn't your problem. And if and when a teen turns up at a job interview in galaxy leggings and a band tee, you can choose not to hire them.

Although galaxy leggings, especially the kind with cats on, ought to be a selling point.

The way I see it, these kids have their ENTIRE ADULT LIVES to dress like office workers

Let them dress like kids while they're kids

Let them look back on their yearbook photos and regret their fashion choices that's part of having ever been a teenager
